Manufacturing and Industrial

International sourcing decisions are narrowed long before anyone visits the plant.

01

How the buyer evaluates

A foreign procurement buyer builds the shortlist from public information: capabilities, certifications, processes, installed capacity and compliance evidence. If that information is not available and verifiable, the plant never enters the comparison.

02

Common friction

In this sector capability is usually real and commercial evidence is insufficient.

  • Technical capabilities described in general terms
  • Certifications not publicly verifiable
  • No clear RFQ pathway
  • Follow-up with no assigned owner
03

Most relevant framework dimensions

Proof and Credibility, Discoverability and Buyer Conversion account for most of the commercial loss in manufacturing and industrial operations.

Plant capability is rarely the problem. The problem is that a foreign buyer cannot verify it before deciding.
04

International demand outside and inside Mexico

Most demand in this sector comes from procurement buyers in the United States and other markets. International demand also exists inside the country: foreign-owned corporates, internationally capitalized plants and multinational purchasing teams operating in Mexico that need verifiable local supply, evaluated in English.

The criterion is identical in both cases. The organization must be findable, understandable and verifiable before any conversation takes place.

05

What the Audit reviews in manufacturing

The diagnosis documents the full industrial buyer journey: how the plant appears in technical search, which capability and compliance evidence is verifiable, how a quotation is requested, and what happens to an RFQ during the first week.

  • Public documentation of installed capacity and processes
  • Verifiable certifications, standards and traceability
  • Presence in English technical search and industrial directories
  • RFQ pathway, response times and assigned owner

Frequently asked questions

Does this apply if we already export to the United States?
Yes. Exporting demonstrates capability, not commercial readiness. Most manufacturers that already export depend on a small number of inherited accounts and do not appear when a new buyer builds a shortlist.
Do we need a new website?
Not necessarily. The Audit establishes which dimensions carry the commercial loss. Frequently the constraint is verifiable evidence or the RFQ pathway rather than design.
How much technical content should be public?
Enough for a buyer to compare without signing an NDA: capabilities, processes, certifications and general tolerances. Sensitive detail stays available on request.
